One structure.
Countless
Perspectives.
The floor plan of Cologne Cathedral is more than a technical drawing. It tells a story of construction, rhythm and the attempt to translate grand ideas into precise lines. In this series it becomes a visual language in its own right.
Wolfram Schäfers works with material, raised lines, superimposed layers and deliberate reduction. Sometimes the geometry is clearly visible; sometimes it fades, breaks apart or merges into the colour.
Concept within chaos – irritation – inspiration – interpretation. The aim is not a perfectly legible plan, but the moment when viewers discover their own meaning.
