Parthenon – Grundriss

Visual description

A golden relief translates the rectangular plan of the ancient temple into a clear composition.

Intention & perception

Its dialogue with Cologne Cathedral opens a view across two eras of sacred architecture.

Part of Wolfram Schäfers’s exploration of historic floor plans. Architectural lines leave their original context and become an open invitation to see anew.
